What is the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower?

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a simple tool to voluntarily share that a person has a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent – and that s/he may need a helping hand, understanding, or more time in shops, at work, on transport, or in public spaces.

I usually wear this lanyard, to discretely show that I have a hidden disability. All I ask is understanding, that things feel different for me.

As an example, I never wear shoes.

I am fully aware of the risks of walking barefoot 👣 and I take full responsibility for any consequences.

And while it's unusual, it's neither illegal nor unsanitary or harmful to walk around without shoes. For me, it's not 'beach wear', and I do not mean any disrespect.
